Today I decided to try non medicinal ways to help me.
I thought I would share two of these remedies in case you find yourself needing it.
The first one is for severe coughs and can be taken one teaspoon at a time whenever another coughing fit attacks.
COUGH BAND-AID RECIPE
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1 T honey
1 T apple cider vinegar
2 T of water (opt.)
Ginger is a natural anti-inflammatory and antihistamine
The same ingredient that makes cayenne hot suppresses pain signal to the brain so that 'itch' doesn't set you off on another attack
Honey dries pus and draws out poisons from wounds
Apple cider vinegar has so many useful uses but in this case it is a great ulcer preventative, great for digestion and pain.
Water is just to dilute it but I like it straight up!
The other recipe is a virgin hot toddy!
VIRGIN HOT TODDY
2-3 oz. apple cider vinegar
1 oz. honey
1/2 oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice
Warm all the ingredients in a small saucepan until the honey has dissolved and the drink is hot, but not boiling. Pour into your mug and sip away slowly!
